Offers care for people with hepatitis C. Services include:

  • education about hepatitis C and how it’s treated
  • assessments including blood tests and ultrasounds

Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS)

The Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the University of Alberta leads research that changes attitudes, and delivers services that change lives.

 

Kairos House (Kairos House’s address is not published)

Kairos House is a residence operated by Catholic Social Services (CSS) which provides accommodation and support to individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Compassionate care is provided to the residents as they experience dramatic changes in their physical health, self-esteem, daily habits, and general lifestyle in response to the onset of infections.

Kairos is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as: 

…a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action :  the opportune and decisive moment

 

Northern Alberta Program (Other names NAP, Northern Alberta HIV Program)

Provides access to anti-retroviral medicine and helps clients with referrals to primary care doctors.

Sexually Transmitted Infections Clinic (STI Clinic) (Other names: STD Centre, STD Clinic, STI Center, STI Centre, Sexually Transmitted Disease, Sexually Transmitted Infections)

Services include:

  • free and private testing and treatment for STIs
  • testing for HIV, bacterial infections (e.g., Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis), and diseases of the blood (e.g., hepatitis C)
  • HPV (genital warts) treatment (service is not offered at the Westmount Centre Mall site)
  • pregnancy testing and referral
  • emergency contraceptive pill
  • referral to community services
  • needle exchange service offered at Edmonton General site only

A chart number for results will be given to you at the time of testing. You must provide this chart number before you get your results.

Birth Control is not provided at this clinic. For information on birth control, contact the Birth Control Centre at 780-735-0010.
